Sarah coleman

Sarah is a Junior undergraduate student at MIT majoring in Chemical Engineering and minoring in Biology. She is originally from Austin, Texas. Sarah has worked in the Stephanopoulos lab since Fall 2016 and she is currently working with grad student David Emerson. Her research involves characterizing methanol assimilation genes from acetogens, to help better understand the related metabolic pathways and cellular physiology when provided with methanol as a substrate.

On campus she is the vice president of her sorority, the intercollegiate chair of AIChE and sometimes MIT’s Mascot, Tim the Beaver.
